PRIME MINISTER OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC, JAN FISCHER, OPENED THE CONFERENCE BUILDING THE BRIDGE BETWEEN RESEARCH AND BUSINESS
The conference Building the Bridge Between Research and Business was opened in Prague on 18 November 2009 by Czech Prime Minister, Jan Fischer, together with the Danish Ambassador, Ole E. Moesby.
The conference focused on how to strengthen the cooperation between the universities and the business. Participants from Czech and Danish institutions (universities, central administration and business) shared experiences in this area. The Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Miroslava Kopicova, gave an introductory speech to the conference.
Some of the topics that were dealt with included: how to support entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer through academia-industry corporation, and how to integrate business in the educational system. Also, the barriers to the cooperation between institutions of higher education and business were highlighted.
The conference was held under the auspices of the Governments Office and organised by the Danish Embassy in cooperation with CECMI, the Czech Technical University and Czech Invest.
